London calling..

Hey there!

So as promised, here comes the second part of our journey through elegant England.

As we were leaving Stratford-upon-Avon we decided to take a short detour to see lovely landscapes around Oxford.

We ended up in a small town named Burford delighting with beautiful houses and tiny shops.

After spending a few hours there we continued our bus ride to Oxford. We visited the Christchurch College where many scenes of the Harry Potter series were shot.

Oxford is a marvellous old town that impresses with beautiful architecture and charming cafés.

The next day we finally proceeded to London. We arrived at around 5 o'clock and went to the city centre to watch a play at Piccadilly Circus called "39 steps".

Getting around in London is super easy, as the public transport system is very extensive and fast.

The next days we had the chance to take a closer look at this global city.

We watched the change of the guards at Buckingham Palace and wandered around in the streets of London.

On Sunday afternoon we returned back home. I reckon we didn't have enough time to see a lot of London, but from what I've seen I will definitely come back one day!

Would you like a cup of tea..?

Hey there!

Last week I went on a class trip to England. We hired a coach and started our journey with the following stops:

Kiel, Germany - Rotterdam, The Netherlands - York, England -

Stratford-upon-Avon, England - Burford, England - Oxford, England - London, England -

Calais, France - Kiel, Germany

When we arrived in Rotterdam we took the night ferry to Hull, England.

The next morning we drove to York where we went on a sightseeing tour and a minster visit.

Now the York Minster is an ancient cathedral situated in the centre of the city. It amazes with great architecture and lots of historical facts.

The next day we proceeded to the birthplace of Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon.
It is a lovely, small town located along the river Avon. When we had some spare time we hired a rowing boat and explored the waterway.
The town reminds of medieval time and when walking around the town one can understand Shakespeare's origin of creativity.

That's it for now, I'll post the rest of the journey in another blog post the following week!
