Behind the façade..

Hey there!

While I was driving around town I noticed an interesting church (built around the 1960's) located at the university campus.

The building is triangular in shape and stands out because of its glass blocks which appear in various colours from the inside.

The architect was inspired by the "Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church" in Berlin. The triangular shapes represent the Holy Trinity, but are also a reference to the maritime lifestyle in Kiel as the shape could be interpreted as a sail.

A different angle

I especially like the clear shapes of the different elements.

Thank you for reading!

xx, Steph
